Even though I’ve had this up and running for a while, I’ve never really announced. So this is that announcement. I have a folder on my desktop that’s filled with imagery that I find visually inspirational for one reason or another. Iconic. Ritualistic. Spiritual. Demonic. Beautiful. Disturbing. I decided to start categorizing them in a somewhat nonsensical fashion online. This is what a came up with: Depository.NoYou.Do

I haven’t curated a new gallery for a few months, so that’s on my list of things to do this week. I’ve also got some more features planned for it (specifically, an archive navigation) that I hope to get around to sometime this month. Until then, take it for what it is. I hope at least a few of the images can provide you with some inspiration.

This collection is curated by me, Brandon Russell, and was primarily created for me. So if there is something that offends you, get over it and please point your browser elsewhere.

Bolle Circa ’87

Last weekend I got away from it all and headed down to southern Colorado for some solitude and time to unplug. While down there I went to a flea market’esque shop hoping to come across some old vinyls, or just any retro design inspirations. After the first thirty minutes I thought I was going to strike out, until I came across a few boxes of sunglasses. The boxes were mainly filled with cheap gas station glasses, but then I found a pair of scratched up vintage Bolles. I asked the owner if he had any others and he brought out a few boxes. He went on to tell me how he had purchased them direct from Bolle twenty or so years ago. There were four different sunglass styles and a pair of rec specs. All were brand new, in box, with stickers still on lens. I bought them all.

I’ve been searching the internets to try and find some history on them and get an official year, but I haven’t found anything useful. If you have any info, let us know in the comments.

Limited Spring 2008 Collection by Elm Company

So I’m a huge fan of fitted hats and an even bigger fan of Elm Company. I know the popular thing in the industry right now is to collaborate with New Era, but in my opinion I’d much rather see snow, skate, and surf brands collaborate with other solid companies within our own industry. Companies like Elm. Why send work and money out to brands that seem to be diving in to “Xtreme Sports” just to be making a buck?

Anyway… This post is about the new Elm 2008 Spring Limited collection. They are all quite pretty and I for one will be trying to get my hands on one. This collection of fitted caps, made in Los Angeles, is limited to only 72 pieces each.
