So I’m a huge fan of fitted hats and an even bigger fan of Elm Company. I know the popular thing in the industry right now is to collaborate with New Era, but in my opinion I’d much rather see snow, skate, and surf brands collaborate with other solid companies within our own industry. Companies like Elm. Why send work and money out to brands that seem to be diving in to “Xtreme Sports” just to be making a buck?
Anyway… This post is about the new Elm 2008 Spring Limited collection. They are all quite pretty and I for one will be trying to get my hands on one. This collection of fitted caps, made in Los Angeles, is limited to only 72 pieces each.

This is The Gold Denim. It is constructed of a lightweight navy demin finished off with gold brocade fabric for the under-visor and lining.

This perfectly colored for spring fitted is the Sunset Plaid. It’s shades of blue and old-gold with teal accents are really set off with the white satin liner.

Now I’m not gonna lie, this is my least favorite of the group. I still like it, just not as much as the others. My first thought when I saw it was “Nice giraffe hat!” Part of my haste against this hat is that I just don’t like yellow. However, a lot of other people do so this hat will be perfect for them. Beyond the details of the matching embroidery, eyelets and button, this particular piece incorporates brown wool blend fabric for the crown with a yellow, brown and white satin fabric.

I haven’t been able to find more pics of this one. But what I can tell you is that it’s constructed of light weight navy denim for the top visor and back panels with a striped linen for the front panels. The fabric has a wide striped pattern on it so no two panel combinations are cut alike. Matching undervisor and liner with wrap-around embroidery on the back. I’ll keep an eye at for more photos.
These hats, all limited to 72 pieces, will be available from select elm dealers this month. For more info visit ElmCompany.com
